Fast Times at Farmington was amazing!
We had a gorgeous weekend for the event. You could not have asked for better weather!
Many of you came on out during setup on Saturday for camping, dropping off your trailer or setting up your swap space. The swap spaces were going like hot cakes on Saturday too! We were not prepared for the amount of folks coming out to get their spaces. Our normal section of swap area was packed by 7pm. So we had to make sure that we blocked off a spot to prepare for those coming Sunday.
For those that came out on Saturday, thank you for taking the extra time to get your Trailers here or just getting your space marked off. This helps us so much for Sunday morning, for us to have a smoother process of getting people in.
Sunday started off quite chilly, but warmed up so nicely for us all.
I know many of you swap meeters that came in Sunday, were a little thrown off on us parking you in the field and not having you go all through the show area to get to it. It was just an easier process to get you down the side road by the gate to our field swap area. Some of you weren’t happy that is where you had to go, but there was no other choice. This field is for us to use for more swap meet, plus our Campers too.
The swap meet/Vendor section had well over 75 plus spaces. That is the Largest we have ever had since we started it in the early 2000s!
The show car area was packed with some beautiful Vintage Vws and some of our later model VWs, Audis and Porsches as well.
We are certainly going to have to make some adjustments to the bottom row for our May 2025 event so we have more room for the show cars. Currently it is used for some swap meet and some camping as well. But we need to make sure that we have room for all of our day of show cars. If you came in with a trailer with your show car, we know you would prefer to unload in the show area, but that space is very tight and no room for any type of turn around. This is why my team members at the gate asked you to go down the side road to the field to park and unload.
The Drag Racing portion was strong this race with over 60 Bracket racers, Pro Outlaw and our new VAG heads up classes. Excited to see everyone and especially all the newcomers out. We plan to have Pro Oulaw at every Farmington Race. So if you have a car that fits in with this class, you can go ahead and plan it now. Also we will be adding in our new VAG headsup class for the future. We invited all of these later model VWs and Audis out to come enjoy the show with us and also be able to race too. They had a blast and Happy to have them there with us.
Our Fundraiser for WNC relief was a success!
Words can not express the amount of happiness seeing all of you at the event and bring supplies of all kinds there. Tools, warm clothing, food and more. They will be going out to those in need thanks to our Enthusiast friends! GMP Performance out of Charlotte took two suv and car loads full of tool and some supplies, then our other VW friends took the rest for their drop off point. Our raffle Fundraiser was great too! Several of you just gave us cash to put toward it and we still got to go through and figure out just how much we raised and will make a separate post on it. This cash will be going to another vw enthusiast that lives in the effected area and has been going everywhere he can bringing water, fixing things and also getting Starlink Satellite systems bought and set up for communication. I will attach below their go fund me page, if you wish to donate and wasn’t able to at the event.
The Southeast Euro Team would like to THANK YOU for coming out and supporting the event. We hope that you had a great time, as that is what it is all about!
We will see you at our next events in 2025!
